Overwhelmed! A Garden Update and Encouragement.

Mom's fresias bloom brightly in a messy corner.
Dear Gardener and Friend,
I hope that this little post finds you well. Yesterday, I popped over to this blog, and thought it would be nice to post again. You may have noticed that the name of the blog has changed to |
"Notes From Hope Cottage: A Gardener's Journal." This had to happen, because, unbeknownst to me, a very large charity website carries a similar name to the old one. It wouldn't be good to cause them trouble, so I made the change. But as we know, change isn't always a bad thing, and this blog has always been more of a gardener's journal anyway.
Today is Saturday, often a busy day in the garden, so I went forth to see what I could tackle before the sun rose too high. A feeling of overwhelm struck me pretty quickly. Our garden is big, and the chores and weeds never ending. What good could I do in the space of one morning? But I made a start.
I began by watering, and once that was out the way, I tackled some weeds, and tidied up some pots. I even fitted in the cleaning of pets bowls and some decorating. :)
I have had some welcome help in the garden recently too. Large areas have been cleared, and we have a new compost heap. My helpers have sown seed too. (One must always get to the fun part when gardening.)
Anyway, the feeling of overwhelm soon disappeared as I did what I could. I remembered that perfection is not the goal, and every little bit counts.
This is true for the rest of life too.
Take one step at a time, and with the Lord at your side, you will get there.
Love and prayers,
Alison.
