A Garden Update & Some Thoughts

Growing Vegetables

Dear Gardeners,

Growing veg is fun. And nowadays, it has become a lifesaver and a necessity for many. The signs of the times, including sky rocketing prices and war, have made many turn to self-sustaining practices including gardening, as they observe Bible prophecies being fulfilled on the news.

I encourage you to be ready for Jesus' soon return. And I also encourage you to occupy while we wait. Firstly, share the Gospel with all God puts in your path. Only Jesus can save, and we need to repent and be born again. Secondly, strive to live a holy life. And thirdly, take care of your family and home. One of the ways you can do this, is by growing your own veg. It will help not only your own family, but others too.

For example, swiss chard, which you can see in the above photo, is easy to grow and very productive. You will find yourself calling friends to come pick some. :)

Another two easy, must have crops are carrots and beetroot. Carrots are great growers once they get started, and neither they nor beets are too fussy. Just remember to give them some of your homemade plant food at least every second week.

Lettuce are easy too, along with spring onion, basil, and coriander.

If you struggle to grow tomatoes, then cherry tomatoes are the way to go. Don't only use them in salads: through them into soups and sauces too.

It is winter right now in the Southern hemisphere, so the veg in the photos might not work for you right now. It gets pretty hot here in Summer, so these cool weather  veggies are enjoying themselves.

Beans, tomatoes, and peppers might be a good choice if you are up north.

I have been using lots of eggshells along with bran to help deter the snails, and have started a compost heap as my bin is full.

That's all for now. Happy gardening, and cloud watching.
